英文中“搭便车”的表达形式有哪些？是car-sharing、car-pool还是get a lift？
在学习英语的过程中，我们常常会陷入一个误区：无论阅读什么样的英文材料，都必须先将其翻译成中文才能理解和学习。这种做法看似有助于理解，但实际上却阻碍了我们英语水平的提升。因为，这种英汉“一对一”的翻译模式，让我们记住和使用的都是经过翻译的中文，而非纯正的英语。长此以往，我们的英语能力始终难以突破瓶颈，就像中国曾经长期作为“贴牌工厂”一样，虽然付出了很多努力，但核心价值却始终掌握在别人手中。
因此，真正学好英语的关键在于，能否在学习过程中直接使用和记忆大量的英语表达。
这是我训练英语的核心原则：与别人用英语进行十次交流的收获，远不如与对方进行一次真实的英语对话和运用。
以“搭便车”为例，英语中有car-sharing、car-pool和get a lift三种表达方式。
1. I often go to work or school by car-sharing (car-share).
2. Let’s car-pool to work or to school.
3. I get a lift (a free ride) in Mary’s car to work every day.
这三种表达中，哪一种是真正意义上的“搭便车”呢？

1) 阅读英语：

Carpool is the original ride sharing. Basically, you take a passenger in your car when you commute or take a trip, instead of riding alone.
2) 说英语：
当你读到上面的英语时，你对carpool的理解是英语本身，还是它的中文翻译？
1. Okay. I got you. I know what carpool means.
2. Carpool means you drive a car and you get/take someone/some passengers, your friends, some strangers, etc., riding with you in your backseat, instead of you driving alone in a car and him driving alone in his car.
学习并掌握英语的难点，恰恰在于你无法用英语“说”出这些（高中水平的）英语，而不是你不会英译汉：You drive your car and you take some passengers in your car.
用英语记住carpool的意思是否很困难？
3. To commute means go to work or school from and back home in your car, or in a bus, in a train, etc.
3) 阅读英语：
What is car sharing?
Car sharing, or car share, means a kind of short-term car rental, for replacing car ownership. Instead of owning a car, becoming a car share member gives you access to a fleet of different types of cars that can be used for as little as an hour.
4) 说英语：
除非你确实无法直接用英语“读懂”上面高中水平的英语，否则，你应该做的不再是英译汉的阅读，而是“边读英语边说英语”。
你甚至不必完全读懂，只要掌握其中的关键词就可以用英语“说”：
1. Okay. I got you. If you don’t own a car/don’t have a car, you rent a public car and drive it yourself for a few hours, or for less than one hour, then you are car-sharing, you are traveling by car-share. Everyone uses the same car and drives after they pay.
你能用英语“说”并记住这些表达吗？这比只会英译汉更重要，也更具有挑战性。这才是学习并掌握英语的精髓，而不是看你会英译汉多少。
用英语“说”出这些表达，就是英语口语的体现。
难道非得用car pool、car share、take a lift“造句”并附带中文翻译，才算真正的英语口语吗。
